Barbara Pigazzi’s photographic lens at the Venice Film Festival: An Achievement for Animica Art Gallery

We are pleased to announce that our photographer and author, Barbara Pigazzi, has received official accreditation for the 81st Venice International Film Festival, which will be held at the Lido of Venice from 28 August to 7 September 2024. This recognition is particularly significant, given that the festival’s press office carefully selects participants through an in-depth evaluation process.

The meeting with the actress Najwa Njmri

Our participation in the festival is nothing new; in previous years we have had the honor of capturing memorable shots of celebrities. An unforgettable moment was the one with the actress Najwa Njmri, who, after meeting Barbara and showing her the tattoo on her left arm depicting the face of her beloved actress, had Barbara take a photo of her. Director Joan Vall, intrigued by this scene, approached and filmed the moment. Najwa Njmri looked directly into Barbara’s room, and as she smiled at her, she gave her a thumbs-up sign with her right hand, expressing her appreciation for this meeting. These precious memories testify to the quality and passion with which our studio works.

A prestigious jury

The Venice Film Festival is one of the most prestigious cinematographic events in the world. Every year, it attracts a multitude of illustrious guests, including internationally renowned actors, directors and film critics. The international jury will be made up of nine cinema personalities, who will award the Golden Lion for best film and the other official prizes. Among the members of the jury there will be Giuseppe Tornatore, accompanied by prominent names such as the American director and screenwriter James Gray, the British director and screenwriter Andrew Haigh, the Polish director, screenwriter and producer Agnieszka Holland, the Brazilian director and screenwriter Kleber Mendonça Filho , the Mauritanian director, screenwriter and producer Abderrahmane Sissako, the German director and screenwriter Julia von Heinz and the Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi. The exhibition will be directed by Alberto Barbera and chaired by Isabelle Huppert.
