Italo Zannier is an art historian and the first professor of history of photography in Italy.
A great honor and precious gift for Barbara Pigazzi.
Italo Zannier is an Italian art and photography historian, born in Spilimbergo on June 9, 1932. He is considered one of the greatest experts on photography in Italy, with a vast production of books and essays on the subject.
Zannier has dedicated his life to the study and dissemination of the history of photography, with particular attention to Italian photography. He has curated numerous exhibitions and collaborated with important cultural institutions.

Zannier has contributed significantly to the enhancement of the Italian photographic heritage and the diffusion of photographic culture in our country.
In this period (March 2025) it is possible to visit the exhibition dedicated to him entitled “Italo Zannier – I am me. Photographer in the history and historian of photography.” at the Harry Bertoia Gallery in Pordenone.
