POPE FRANCIS AT GIUDECCA – VENICE

For the first time in the world, Pope Francis has arrived on the island of Giudecca, in Venice. This morning at 8.00 he landed at the Giudecca women’s prison, where he turned his attention to the inmates.
The whole community, many children of this island, so powerful and strong in its fragility, gathered in the greeting of Pope Francis who, escorted by boat, traveled the journey from the prison to the Madonna della Salute, navigating the entire Giudecca canal, and crossed by water the foundation of Ponte Piccolo, the heart of the island in front of our Most Holy Redeemer, and then continued with the celebration of mass in Piazza San Marco and the meeting with young people.
