Luca Guadagnino, with his signature academic and formal style, walks the red carpet of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival alongside Noemi Brando for Joie de Vivre, his new documentary born out of his love for Bernardo Bertolucci. Presented Out of Competition in a 435-minute, two-part cut, the film traces Bertolucci’s work through interviews with directors, critics and protagonists of international cinema, including Martin Scorsese, David Cronenberg, Alfonso Cuarón and James Gray. At the Lido, Guadagnino also received the Cartier Glory to the Filmmaker Award, ahead of an upcoming stop at the New York Film Festival with Artificial. Joie de Vivre is produced by Francesco Melzi d’Eril and Gabriele Moratti for MeMo Films, co-produced by Tenderstories.
