Nicolas Maupas Co-Hosts the Opening Ceremony of the 83rd Venice Film Festival
Nicolas Maupas, Italian-French actor, co-hosts the opening and closing ceremonies of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival (September 2–12, 2026) alongside actress and director Greta Scarano. The pair took the stage at the Sala Grande of the Palazzo del Cinema on the Lido for the festival’s inaugural evening on September 2, and will return on September 12 to present the closing ceremony, when the Golden Lion and the festival’s other official awards are announced.
For the occasion, Maupas wore a classic all-black tuxedo with a white pleated shirt and black bow tie, a sharp, minimal look that let his signature dark curls stand out against the festival’s official backdrop. Ph. Barbara Pigazzi, Studio Animica.
